Santa Specials

Each year the Society runs a Santa Special day in December

In 2009 Santa will once again be visiting the railway on December 13th.

Here we see Santa and his helpers arriving by train to Santa's grotto:

For the first time in 2008 Santa also visited later in the week specially for school children from two local Leicester City Schools.

Following the event Barleycroft Primary School sent in the following note:

Dear everyone concerned,
We would like to thank you for the wonderful time you gave our children.  They were talking about the train for a long time afterwards, and I think their faces said everything.  We appreciate the time that you put into the day especially as it was not one of your normal operating days.  Not only the children enjoyed the day, the adults had a super time too.
Once again we would like to express our gratitude for all your hard work in making our trip so enjoyable.
